Oiling & preservation

Controlled oiling and preservation — precisely dosed and reproducible. With machine technology from RL Automation, as a standalone station or integrated into the cleaning line.

Oiling as a process step in its own right

Not every part should merely be clean — many parts need to be deliberately oiled or preserved after cleaning: as corrosion protection, as interim protection within the production flow, or as a defined lubricating film for the next machining step. What matters is not “apply oil” but precise, reproducible dosing — evenly, in the right place, in the right amount.

Example from the watch industry: oiling in a multi-stage pressing process

In the watch industry in particular, oiling is a key step. A watch case is not formed in one go: it passes through more than ten cycles of pressing → degreasing → soft annealing → oiling → pressing again, and so on. With each pass the part moves closer to the final case shape — and the oil-solvent mixture is adapted each time to this approach. Such a sequence requires a precise, controllable oiling system: dose, distribution and medium must be controllable exactly and repeatably, cycle after cycle.

Stamping strips: longer tool service life

A second classic application is the oiling of stamping strips. A defined oil film on the strip reduces friction and wear in the stamping tool — which noticeably extends tool service life and keeps stamping quality constant across the production run.

Machine technology and partner

TeSe implements oiling and preservation technology with RL Automation — as a standalone station or integrated directly into the cleaning line, in single-piece flow as well as in strip operation. Cleaning, drying and oiling thus become one continuous, controlled process. More on the Single-piece-flow / inline systems page; documents in the media library.

The optimal oil — together with ZET-Chemie

The right oil has to do several things at once: long tool service life, flawless parts — and then be removed cleanly and without problems during cleaning. Oil and cleaning therefore have to be thought of together. This is exactly where our chemistry partner ZET-Chemie comes in: oiling and cleaning chemistry are matched to each other instead of working against each other.

Are you still looking for the optimal oil to run your tools for a long service life, obtain optimal parts and still have no problems during cleaning? Then you’ve come to the right place. Challenge us and ZET-Chemie — together we’ll explore the optimisation possibilities.

Is this right for your task?

Whether corrosion protection, interim preservation or a defined oil film — we determine the right oiling on your parts: 1–2 hours of testing free of charge. In-depth feasibility studies: CHF 1’200 per day, 50% creditable against a machine purchase.
